Purpose:
To foster, encourage, and assist recipients to further the appreciation of Scottish Culture in the areas of Dance, Piping, Drumming, Athletics, Literature, History, Music, Poetry, Language, Certification workshops, etc.
The St. Andrew's Society of Connecticut does not accept applications to supplement private lessons.
Selection:
The Education Awards Committee will review all applications and make its recommendations to the Board of Managers. Recommendations will be based on the applicant having demonstrated an interest in advancing appreciation of Scottish Heritage and/or culture, through his/her participation
Awards:
The number and the amount of the awards will be at the discretion of the Board of Managers, based on the recommendations made by the Education Awards Committee.
Preference will be given to children/grandchildren of members of the St. Andrew's Society of Connecticut, Inc., to Connecticut residents and to participants in the competitions held at the St. Andrew's Society of Connecticut's Scottish Festival.
Generally, awards will range from $100 to $400.
Requests for financial assistance must be submitted to the Education Awards Committee by April 17th.
Information submitted in this application may be shared with other St. Andrew's Societies and Scottish organizations in the New England area.
Applicants will be notified no later than May 15th.
